Store bought laundry detergents can be very harmful to skin (escpecially tide). Free and clear are the best options if you like store bought detergents
however you can save a few dollars and make much healthier detergents on your own.
Baking soda (1 part): Deodorizes, softens water, softens fabric, balances water pH, rinses better, removes stains.
Washing soda (1 part): Removes oils, Raises pH (breaking down organic matter)
Peppermint oil (However much): abrasive but not abrasive to teeth, cleans and absorbs toxins (has a hardness rating lower than enamel)
Add baking soda and washing soda and peppermint oil to a large glass jar, mixing as you add so it is well distributed. I like to add a lot of peppermint oil
because it makes your clothes smell very good (40 drops).
